Jonathan Wheeler is Former Treasurer
Jonathan joined the executive in October 2002, and stepped down in October 2016, although he remains an ACAL member.
Jonathan is a Partner at Bolt Burdon Kemp, a specialist firm of compensation solicitors in Islington, London. He represents survivors of childhood abuse, mainly from their time in residential or foster care, or at school, and regularly sues local authorities and religious organisations on behalf of his clients. Dealing with both group actions and stand-alone cases, in January 2008 Jonathan took a test case to the House of Lords which has since made it easier for adult survivors to sue for compensation, when previously they may have been ‘out of time’ to do so.
Jonathan is a member of the Law Society’s Personal Injury Panel, and is a fellow and past president of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers.
