Tracey Emmott
At Emmott Snell Solicitors we are proud to represent those who have suffered injustice. Our lawyers are dedicated to representing victims or survivors of unlawful or negligent acts or conduct, in civil actions. If you have been wronged in some way, we can advise you on whether you have a civil claim, and assist you in securing proper recognition and redress. The most usual outcome for a successful civil claim is an award of financial compensation. While we recognize the limitations of this outcome it can serve as important validation of injustices committed. The civil legal process can facilitate recovery, restitution, and some closure. We offer a bespoke holistic service, offering the highest level of client care, referral to appropriate support agencies, and the best possible legal outcome. We have extensive experience and expertise in a breadth of civil compensation claims, and have an individual approach to every client. Our approach is unique.
Tracey Emmott was a partner in a regional firm until 2009 when she set up her own niche personal injury firm dedicated to representing survivors of sexual violence. She has an interest and expertise in representing survivors of church/religious abuse, and was the claimant’s solicitor in the landmark judgment case against the Catholic church (‘JGE’ v Roman Catholic Diocese of Portsmouth). She represents survivors of non recent abuse in schools, in children’s homes, in the Cadets and Scouts. She acted for siblings against a local authority for social work shortcomings where compensation awarded was the highest ever in such a case in the UK (ABB & others v Milton Keynes Council). She also specialises in abuse in the therapeutic context. With her team, she has secured successful outcomes for her clients against both individuals, estates and organisations.
