Meeting – Tuesday 24th June, Committee Room 7 – House of Commons, 6.30 to 8pm
Open Meeting – ALL WELCOME
The investigation into abuse in children’s homes in Jersey has shocked many
people in the UK and in Jersey. Care leavers on Jersey have formed a group called
the ‘Jersey Careleavers’ Association’ (JCLA). Representatives of
the JCLA will be coming to the UK Parliament to give an account of the crisis
in Jersey and to call on the UK government to ensure that an independent inquiry
is held into the abuse scandal.
This is an open meeting, so anyone can attend, and is an important step in
getting the message of care leavers from Jersey across to parliament and the
public.
