The ACAL petition expired in June 2009, because it had been running for 12 months. We submitted the 75 signatures to the Ministry of Justice for a reaction.
They replied by explaining their justification for increasing the Court Fees in the first place for 90% of the letter. In the last paragraph, they conceded, as we know already, that, following Lord Laming’s condemnation of the system, Mr Francis Plowden was commissioning a report, which was due out before the end of the year (2009).
All in all, a dissapointing, but thoroughly expected reaction from the Ministry. To read the actual letter click here
