Police failures in Market Weighton child abuse case

James Carragher jailed for 14 yearsHumberside Police has been criticised by a watchdog for how it handled claims of sex abuse at a children’s home.

Former principal Father James Carragher, of St William’s Community Home in Market Weighton, was jailed in 2004 for abusing boys in his care.

The Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) started an inquiry in 2005 after cases of others accused of abuse at the home collapsed.

  1. My brother was in St Williams & was also abused by ” Brother James” he went onto lead a horrible life of crime, drugs, & alcohol as a result, & has now sadly passed away 8 weeks ago, & can no longer fight his case.
    Any advice on how to continue to fight his case would ve gratefully accepted.
    Justice needs to be done.
