ACAL is very excited to have recently made a number of donations to various charities and here is what they had to say about it.
1) The Survivors Trust
I am contacting you in regards to the donation that was sent to us via cheque from the Association of Child Abuse Lawyers.
Firstly, I would like to take the opportunity to thank everyone at ACAL on behalf of The Survivors Trust team. We are very grateful for this generous donation that will allow us to continue our work supporting our member agencies and survivors.
The Survivors Trust is the largest umbrella agency for specialist rape and sexual abuse services in Europe and has been providing infrastructure support to our members for the past 15 years. We have 129 member agencies based in the UK and Ireland providing information, advice, support and therapy to over 80,000 individual survivors each year. Our services work with victims and survivors of all ages, male and female, of all forms of sexual violence, sexual abuse and sexual exploitation, including support for partners and family members. Our Trustee Board is exclusively made up of Managers and Directors of rape and sexual abuse support services. Our core aim is to ensure that society supports all survivors effectively and takes responsibility for ending sexual violence.

5) PACE – Parents Against Child Exploitation – October 2019
A huge thank you for the wonderful donation ACAL made to Pace. The donation will go towards sustaining the vital support we provide parents experiencing children exploitation, from investigation right through to prosecution.
One parent recently told us:
“I wanted to take a minute to thank you for your support, guidance and dedication in supporting my family and I over these past few very difficult months. With your support, you have allowed me to have a voice and understand that we as a family are not alone.. You have listened through my tears and found laws and legislation for me to read, which supported and guided us. In our darkest days you have given us hope. We will be forever grateful. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. From a heartbroken mum who, with your support feels there is life after CSE.”
“Pace supports parents to safeguard their children who are being exploited and to disrupt perpetrators of abuse and bring them to justice. Through training Pace upskills practitioners how to effectively support families with a trauma-informed, family focussed, non-judgemental approach and influences national policy by demonstrating the positive impact of our evidence based work.”
