New Training Videos for Members

Ever since its inception ACAL has been involved with the training of new members, and updating existing members on the rudiments, and basics of the civil law relating to pursuing claims on behalf of the victims of child abuse. One of our founder members, Lee Moore, was an enthusiastic trainer. In the early years, we used to hold formal class-based training sessions, which were eagerly attended by some of our executive officers back in the late 1990’s and early millenium.

We have, for some years intended to produce some of our own video training sessions so that we can provide a solid training base for new and existing members. Finally we have succeeded and produced some videos with accompanying authority sources. When coupled with the text book authored by some existing and past executive officers – APIL Guide to Child Abuse Compensation Claims” by Gumble, Levinson, Johnson, Scorer, Wheeler, and Leslie https://www.lexisnexis.co.uk/store/products/apil-guide-to-child-abuse-compensation-claims-third-edition-skuuksku9781784734626AGCAC383752/details or https://www.wildy.com/isbn/9781784734626/apil-guide-to-child-abuse-compensation-claims-3rd-ed-paperback-lexisnexis-butterworths – it provides a solid background and education to any would-be or current practicing solicitor/paralegal.

Our president, Peter Garsden, and highly experienced executive officer, David Greenwood, have produced a series of videos, which can be watched either in group with a discussion afterwards, or alone. They are privately hosted on YouTube. The video sessions are provided free of charge to members. Each one lasts about 30 minutes. Non-members can also watch them at the very reasonable fee of £25 per month. To book training contact us.

The current subject topics include Limitation, Causes of Action, Statement Taking, Vicarious Liability, Failure to Care Cases, and Group Actions. We soon hope to add Quantum, and CICA cases.

We hope you find the videos useful. Any feedback can be appended to the videos as YouTube comments, or alternatively you can contact us.
